We thought we were too cool for timesheets. We were wrong.
I’ll admit that flinder once thought it was too cool for timesheets - until we started using that data in a different, and much more powerful, way.
Those of us who’ve been in the industry long enough have witnessed timesheets fall in and out of favour.
Timesheets were once seen as the go-to method for billing clients. But times change (thankfully!). What’s heralded as best practice one day can later end up feeling dated. I’ve felt that way about timesheets as a billing tool for years, and maybe you feel the same.
Timesheets were never (or only in very specific circumstances) used to bill clients at flinder. Mostly because billing by timesheets is working capital inefficient and flinder’s pricing model was built on subscription to keep us working capital favourable.
We did use timesheets at flinder, though. And found them to be highly strategic.
